81 year old female with glaucoma and macular degeneration wanted to be able to read, write and watch TV again. She also previously liked to bake and cook.
This 81 year old lady appreciated an updated prescription with yellow Corning (CPF 450) lenses to help with indoor glare and improved vision outdoors especially on grey cloudy days. She was elated to be able to see TV and faces once again with the use of her new headborne binoculars which allowed her to see 20/20 on the eye chart. A portable digital reading device proved to be more beneficial than ordinary magnifiers to finally allow her to read newspaper print, medicine bottles, her cookbook and print as small as 20/25 (one line larger than the 20/20 line).
78 year old male with glaucoma and history of corneal transplants in both eyes wants to be able to read, write, watch TV, identify street signs and see better when travelling.
This 78 year old gentleman was able to see 20/20 for reading with his new portable digital magnifier and was able to watch sports on TV with his new 7X headborne binoculars and see the faces of family members and friends. He found improvement with his outdoor photosensitivity with the use of his transition photochromatic lenses.
7 year old girl in Grade 2 suffering from Retinopathy of Prematurity wants to be able to read and play soccer.
This lovely Grade 2 student was finally able to see 20/20 in the distance and finally read the blackboard and view things in the distance with the use of her discrete 6X telescope when used in front of her left eye. She found benefit in seeing clearer especially in bright sunlight with her updated prescription glasses with anti-reflective coated transition lenses (lenses are clear indoors and turns darker outdoors). She was able to read upto 20/20 print more comfortably with less fatigue with her 2.2X brightfield dome magnifier which looks like a paper weight than a typical magnifier.
